Apple Music

Connecting Apple Music lets Musicat build your listening history: what you play shows up on your profile, feeds your stats and keeps your automated playlists fresh.

Connecting Apple Music

  1. Open Settings → Apple Music.
  2. Tap Connect Apple Music.
  3. Sign in with your Apple Account and allow access.

Track your listening history and unlock many cool features.

From then on your plays are picked up automatically.

Important!

Apple Music has a limited API, but we are doing our best to accurately track your streams!

On-device tracking

Track what you play in Apple Music directly on this phone, including in the background. It is more complete and accurate than tracking from our servers alone, and it stays off until you turn it on.

How it works, how to turn it on, and what to do when plays stop appearing

Reconnect every 6 months

Apple Music makes you reconnect musicat every 6 months.

The diagnostics card shows your exact deadline and how many days are left. Once it passes, your plays stop being tracked until you connect again.

Importing your past history

Connecting Apple Music only tracks what you play from now on. To bring in what you listened to before, use Import history. It opens musicat.fm in a browser window, where you upload your Apple Music history file. Importing is part of a paid plan — on a free account the button shows the plan options instead.

Disconnecting

Open Settings → Apple Music and tap Disconnect Apple Music.

Your listening history will not be tracked, automated playlists will not refresh and other features might not be available.

You can connect Apple Music again at any time!

Plays not showing up?

Run Connection diagnostics. It tells you whether your plays are arriving, and what to do when they are not.
